Scope and contact

CozyPlan provides browser-based floor plan, 3D visualization, furnishing, decoration, project storage, AI-assisted conversion, and export tools. This policy explains how the operator of CozyPlan handles personal information when you use the CozyPlan websites and application.

Information we collect

• Account information: your email address, account identifier, authentication provider, email-verification status, account dates, and sign-in and security information. If you use Google sign-in, Google provides the authentication information needed to create or access your account. We do not receive your Google password.
• Profile and entitlement information: your plan, beta or access-request status, conversion and export quotas and usage, and related timestamps.
• Project content: project names; floor plan geometry and measurements; rooms, walls, openings, closets, balconies, furniture and their properties; floor and wall finishes; uploaded artwork and wallpaper images or image URLs; generated previews; source-measurement metadata; and other edits stored in a scene.
• Imports and exports: source floor plan images, file names and types, import job identifiers and status, intermediate and generated conversion files, error details, exported scene files and any images embedded in them, DXF or DAE files, storage paths, and download links.
• Feedback and communications: support or purchase emails and, when you submit an issue report, your description, reproduction steps, expected and actual results, optional email, before-and-after screenshots, the current scene, selected element, scene counts, view and theme, viewport dimensions, browser language, and user-agent information.
• Technical and usage information: IP address, approximate location derived from it, browser and device information, referring and visited pages, timestamps, logs, errors, feature interactions, and events relating to sign-in, projects, imports, exports, editing, feedback, and pricing flows.

How and why we use information

• Provide authentication, browser-local sessions, cloud projects and autosave, public demo templates, 2D and 3D editing, furnishing and decoration, rendering, supported imports and exports, and other requested features.
• Process floor plan images with automated and AI-assisted systems to create editable layouts and project files.
• Administer free or paid feature entitlements, conversion and export credits, access requests, and purchase inquiries.
• Send verification, import-status, security, support, access, and service-related messages.
• Diagnose problems, respond to feedback, secure the service, prevent fraud and abuse, enforce our terms, analyze performance and feature usage, and improve CozyPlan.
• Comply with law, establish or defend legal claims, and protect users, CozyPlan, and others.

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating and improving a secure service, your consent where requested, and compliance with legal obligations.

AI processing and uploads

When you request a floor plan conversion, CozyPlan stores the source image and sends it, related image-processing inputs, and necessary instructions to cloud infrastructure and AI providers, including OpenAI. The workflow may create cleaned plans, wall structures, opening markers, measurement metadata, validation data, logs, and editable scene files. Import completion or failure may trigger an email to your account address.

Do not upload files that contain sensitive personal information, confidential third-party data, or content you do not have the right to process. Provider retention and processing practices are also governed by their applicable terms and data controls.

AI-assisted results can be incomplete or inaccurate. You are responsible for reviewing and correcting generated drafts before relying on them.

Local storage, cookies, and analytics

CozyPlan uses browser storage, including local storage and IndexedDB, to remember your language, theme, current scene, previews, active project, import status, authentication session, and locally uploaded image assets. Scene records normally contain image references and technical metadata while the corresponding image binary is kept separately in IndexedDB. This storage supports editor features requested by you and is not used for advertising. Guest work may remain only on the device unless you download it or sign in and save it as a cloud project. Clearing browser data can remove locally stored work.

When enabled, Google Analytics uses identifiers such as first-party cookies and collects page views, browser and device details, approximate location, traffic source, and product-interaction events. You can restrict cookies through your browser and use available Google Analytics opt-out tools. Blocking storage may affect analytics or sign-in persistence.

For completed plan imports, we record whether the ready email was sent, whether a link in it was visited, whether the signed-in owner loaded the plan, and whether a project was created from it. Email links use a unique token to associate a visit with the import. A link visit may be caused by a mail security scanner. We do not use an email open tracking image.

Images and external URLs

Artwork and wallpaper images uploaded from your device are validated and processed in your browser. CozyPlan may resize, compress, or re-encode them, remove embedded metadata during re-encoding, and record technical metadata such as file type, dimensions, byte length, and a content hash. During local editing, the processed binary is kept in IndexedDB and the scene stores a reference to it. Local editing alone does not send that binary to CozyPlan.

When you save a scene as a cloud project, each referenced processed image is uploaded separately to Google Firebase Storage under your account and the cloud scene stores its reference and technical metadata. Identical images may be stored once and reused by multiple projects belonging to the same account. When you download a portable CozyPlan scene file, the file embeds a copy of each referenced local image so that it can be reopened elsewhere. Anyone who receives that portable file may be able to extract or view those images.

Feedback screenshots are processed in the browser and are sent to CozyPlan only when an online issue report is submitted. If online submission is unavailable, CozyPlan downloads the report to your device and you decide whether to send it. If you provide an external image URL, your browser may contact that third-party host directly; the host may receive your IP address, browser information, and request details under its own privacy terms. External decoration images are not sent to an AI provider merely because you use them in the editor.

Sharing and service providers

We use service providers to operate CozyPlan, including Google Firebase and Google Cloud for authentication, databases, hosting, storage, functions, and import processing; Google Analytics for usage analytics; OpenAI for AI-assisted image processing; and email-delivery providers for transactional and support messages. Their processing may include account, content, technical, and usage information needed to perform those services.

We may disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a business transfer such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

CozyPlan does not sell your personal information for money. We do not disclose your project content publicly unless you direct us to offer a sharing feature that clearly indicates this. Public demo templates supplied by CozyPlan do not publish your private projects.

International processing

CozyPlan and its providers may process information in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where required, we rely on provider contractual protections or other lawful transfer mechanisms.

Retention

We keep account and cloud-project information while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. Deleting a project removes its active project record and snapshot from CozyPlan's project database. Cloud image binaries are stored separately and deduplicated at account level, so deleting one project does not delete those binaries at that time; an image may also support another project. Account-level cloud image binaries remain until the associated account data is deleted, subject to backups, logs, legal requirements, and reasonable deletion delays.

Import files, intermediate outputs, exports, feedback reports, analytics, communications, and security logs are retained for the period reasonably needed for their stated purpose, dispute resolution, abuse prevention, and legal compliance. Browser-local information and image binaries remain until CozyPlan or you overwrite or remove them, the browser evicts them, or you clear the site's browser data. Removing an image reference from one scene may not immediately remove a deduplicated browser-local binary.

Third-party providers may retain information under their own documented retention schedules. You may request deletion of your account or associated data, including account-level cloud image assets, by contacting us.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No online service or storage system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Keep your credentials confidential and use care when including images or external URLs in projects. Portable scene files can contain complete embedded image copies and should be protected accordingly.

Your choices

You can edit or delete projects through available project controls, download supported scene and export files, choose whether to submit feedback, and manage browser storage and cookies. Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal information, or to restrict, object to, or withdraw consent for certain processing. Withdrawing consent does not affect earlier lawful processing.

To make a request or appeal a privacy decision, contact contact@cozyplan.io. We may need to verify your identity. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.

Children

CozyPlan is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the date above and post the revised version on this page.
